  • Before surgery for congenital cleft nasal and septal deformity

  • After surgery - 6 weeks; patient can breathe better through her nose and is more satisfied with nasal appearance/symmetry

  • Before

  • After surgery - an open septorhinoplasty was performed and cartilage from the nasal septum and rib were used to reconstruct the nasal septum and internal and external nasal valves

  • Before

  • After surgery - nasal septum has been straightened and lengthened, and the nasal tip has been rotated and reconstructed for increased support to the nostril for improved breathing

  • Before

  • After surgery - at 6 weeks the columellar incision is still noticeable, but this will continue to fade so that it is ultimately very difficult to see

  • Before surgery (unilateral congenital cleft nasal deformity)

  • After surgery (1 year) - open structural septorhinoplasty with multiple grafts obtained from autologous nasal septum

  • After surgery for congenital cleft nasal deformity- example showing only 2 weeks after surgery where there is still significant swelling around nasal tip

  • Before surgery

  • After surgery - 2 weeks after surgery the columellar and right nostril/alar incisions are notable but these will fade over time

  • Before surgery

  • After surgery - here at 4 months out with less swelling and greater than 75% healed

  • Before surgery

  • After surgery - for congenital cleft nasal deformity. This operation typically requires about 7 cartilage grafts to reconstruct the nose in a more functional and symmetric fashion. Over 90% of the time I can achieve this using cartilage and bone from within the nose, only, as opposed to using cartilage from the ear or rib.
